APEL

The certification "Responsable des Opérations à l'International" (International Operations Manager) (formerly CESIMAD) of the 3A International Business School, (Level II certified), may be obtained through Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL), known in French as Validation des Acquis de l'Expérience (VAE)

The certification "Responsable des Opérations à l'International" (formerly CESIMAD), oriented towards the 3A countries (Asia, Africa, Latin America and the CEECs) may be obtained in three main professional categories:
  • International Operations Manager in Marketing and International Trade (e.g. the position of export division head)…;
  • International Operations Manager in Financial Management and Audit (e.g. the position of international management controller) …;
  • International Operations Manager in the fields of development, sustainable development or humanitarian activities (e.g. positions of mission administrator, development project leader, management controller in NGOs and/or international organizations, fund-raising director in NGOs and/or international organizations, export division head in fair trade, audit in micro-finance institution, CSR manager)…

What is APEL (VAE in French)?

  • Registered in the National Professional Certification Directory, the certification "Responsable des Opérations à l'International" (formerly CESIMAD) may be obtained through VAE.
  • APEL provides official recognition of experience, knowledge, aptitudes and skills acquired through professional experience. It is an individual right. It is included in the French Labor Code and in the Education Code.
  • APPEL enables you to obtain a professional certification.
  • The validation may be total if you are competent in all the fields required for the diploma, or partial if you are only competent in certain areas.

Who is concerned?

APEL concerns anyone who wishes to have his or her professional experience in the professions indicated above validated by obtaining a diploma corresponding to a recognized level of competence.

The APEL program is intended for anyone, regardless of his or her status, having at least three years of relevant professional experience in the above mentioned professions. It must be applied for on an individual basis. It concerns:
  • salaried employees (with fixed-term or open-ended job contracts and temporary workers)
  • non-salaried workers (self-employed professionals, farmers, small business persons, shopkeepers, self-employed persons, and spouses of self-employed persons assisting them in their business etc.
  • public employees with or without tenure
  • job seekers whether or not they are receiving compensation
  • volunteers with experience in non-profit organizations, NGOs or in an international organization

Conditions of eligibility:

After notification by the Jury concerning the admissibility of your application file (Livret I of the APEL program), you must initiate a second stage, which consists in the constitution of a file providing an in-depth analysis of your professional experience (Livret II of the APEL program). The examination of this file by a jury of professionals leads to the total or partial validation of the certification.

The completion of the in-depth analysis file requires individual assistance from a professional.

The APEL program therefore constitutes another means of acquiring 3A International Business School certification when you have a significant amount of professional experience.
