Globalization, TOB, Conquering Markets

These are the terms that determine the economic rhythm of our planet.

At the same time, humankind is becoming increasingly aware of the potential dangers weighing on the planet's future. The issue of sustainable development affects all of us. .

In certain places, so much depends on improving the population's living conditions through poverty eradication or literacy.

Natural disasters and human conflicts lead to humanitarian emergencies, … which certain international and non-governmental organizations try to manage as best they can.

3A believes that carrying out these missions is another way to participate in the world.. It's about being a different kind of agent, taking action throughout the world.

3A's teaching approach is designed to enable students to acquire the knowledge and develop the skills necessary to work as functional managers in this field.

A sampling of our classes on development: :

  • Seminars on the functions of field administrators, a key operational role in humanitarian emergencies
  • An examination of the concept of development
  • Courses ondevelopment economicsdevelopment project management, fair trade, microfinance and the social responsibility of companies
  • Courses on financing and marketing NGOs

3A International Business School for Trade and Development gives students the skills to become a "different type of agent …"

Ten years after the Rio Summit,
the Johannesburg Summit in September 2002 was an opportunity to asses the actions that needed to undertaken in order to guarantee the sustainability of resources for future generations and the protection of individuals.

More than ever, it became clear that all of the players - the economic and political spheres as well as civil society - shared a responsibility for the planet.

Education is a key tool for ensuring that this commitment does not does remain a pious hope.

Since 2002, courses on sustainable development have been part of the 3A curriculum, in order not only to participate in this principle, but also to prepare students, in the long term, to implement this approach in the workplace as young professionals..

3A and Fair Trade.
3A was the first and remains today practically the only school that trains students in methods of fair trade, a system based on specific criteria that do not necessarily respond to classic economics.

Free Trade: A New, Important Issue.
Free trade is a trade partnership, based on dialog, transparency and respect, which seeks greater equity in international trade. Fair trade contributes to sustainable development by offering better trading conditions for marginalized producers, especially in the South, and ensuring the protection of their rights.

3A offers an education that is tailored to the realities of fair trade, halfway between a market-based economy and development. It introduces effective and adapted tools for marketing, management and social science to transform trade into a bona fide agent of development.

3A International Business School has established a partnership withMax Havelaar in order to educate students on the effects of free-market globalization and allow them to examine the alternative of fair trade for a more just economy.

Humanitarian Emergencies.
This is the first phase, even before beginning the reconstruction and reorganization of systems devastated by war, fragile governments, disastrous climate conditions and power struggles that undermine any kind of advancement.

That is why the "humanitarian world" must professionalize, which has been the case especially in the past ten years.

In order to prevent an "emergency" from continuing for 15 years, as in the case of Sudan, humanitarian workers must fully understand the underlying geopolitical and economic environment; strong strategic analysis skills are, therefore, essential.

"3A teaches us to take action, not only for the countries of the South, but also for all societies that might face this kind of problem."
